Cocoa Beach Police Department received a call from a resident stating two individuals posing as F.P.L. workers came to her front door
requesting to enter her home to turn off the power. Subjects were wearing orange reflective vests and were driving a white truck with an F.P.L. logo on it. They were persistent about going into the residence, however, the complainant refused. She contacted F.P.L. and was advised that no one from their office should have been at her residence. The Cocoa Beach Police Department contacted F.P.L. and they advised their company was not doing work at that address, additionally at NO TIME SHOULD THEIR EMPLOYEES EVER REQUEST ENTRANCE INTO A RESIDENCE. Brevard County Sheriff's Office had a similar incident on November 30th, involving two males posing as F.P.L. workers also wearing reflective vests. These two suspects forced their way into the home and restrained the victim with duct tape removing precious jewelry and cash. Fortunately the victim did not sustain serious injury.
The Cocoa Beach Police Department asks all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the department immediately at
868-3251.
